Pastor Eva Marie Wolfe was born in South Philadelphia, the land of cheesesteaks, soft pretzels, water ice, and Rocky Balboa (who is not a real person, no matter what Mayim Bialik implied about him on Jeopardy). She has an undergraduate degree in Air Transportation Management and a certificate in Air Traffic Control from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. After holding a variety of jobs, including college registrar and paralegal, she answered God’s call to ministry. She graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2007 with a Master of Divinity and again from Asbury in 2022 with a Doctor of Ministry. Her ministry project topic was on the older adult in the missional church. She is passionate about the idea that people can and do serve God at all ages and is very interested in intergenerational ministry. She served previously at several churches in Ohio: Grace UMC in Hamilton, as a student associate pastor; Croton UMC for ten years; Neal Avenue UMC in Newark for five years; and, just over a year at New Zion UMC in Baltimore, before returning to Croton in November 2023.
After graduating from Embry-Riddle, she moved to the city of Fairfield, outside of Cincinnati, and married her best friend, Jeff, who is from North Carolina. They have five adult children, two of whom live locally in Ohio, two in North Carolina, and one in Arizona. They also have lots of grandchildren, though unfortunately none of them live in Ohio. She is both a cat person and a dog person and has a soft spot in her heart for pygmy goats as well, though she and Jeff currently only have two cats, one dog, and lots of succulents. She loves history, art, architecture, traveling, and long walks. She and Jeff are excited to be returning home to Croton and look forward to rekindling old friendships and forming many new ones.
